Their sound is characterized by dreamy, swirling guitars, driving basslines, and pulsating rhythms, all anchored by Harrison’s crooning vocals and introspective lyrics. The band's music is an eclectic blend of psychedelic rock, blog-era indie rock, and warm 70’s AM easy-listening, drawing inspiration from acts such as The Beatles, Todd Rundgren, The Flaming Lips, and The Velvet Underground. Formed in 2017, the band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist, Max Harrison, guitarists Ryan Garcia and Wyatt Bergwin, bassist Jesse Velazquez, drummer Caleb Carr, and keyboardist / producer Alejandro Quevedo.

The Wax Worms are a "worm-next-door" psychedelic indie DIY band hailing from sunny Miami, Florida.
